A few questions

The usual things.

Is a Canvasly portrait AI-generated or hand-painted?
Both, in sequence. The composition and the three proofs you choose between are generated by the studio's painterly pipeline from your photograph — that's what lets you iterate to the right painting before any pigment ships. Once you approve a proof, the painting is finished and shipped as a real archival piece: heavyweight gallery cotton, twelve-channel UV pigment, hand-varnished, and finished with raised UV-relief brushwork up to 1.8 mm. What arrives on your wall is a real archival canvas painting, not a digital file or a poster print.
What kind of photo works best for an oil portrait commission?
Bright, in focus, subject reasonably centred. Daylight beats indoor light. We'll flag anything that'll fight us before you commit.
Will the painting actually look like the subject?
That's the whole job. The pipeline locks identity from your source — eye colour, fur or hair pattern, face shape — and only relaxes style: brushwork, light, palette. If a proof doesn't feel right, polish another.
How long does a Canvasly portrait commission take?
Three minutes to first proofs. Usually delivered within 15 business days of approval.
What is UV-relief brushwork?
UV-relief reads like a painting from across the room and rewards a close look — locally applied, raised brushwork up to 1.8 mm that you can feel.
What is the return policy if I do not love my portrait?
Thirty days from delivery — ship the painting back at your own postage cost, then a reprint or a refund, your call. See Returns.
Does Canvasly ship internationally?
Free shipping is contiguous-US. Elsewhere by request — email the studio and we'll quote a flat rate.
How much does a Canvasly oil portrait cost?
Each standard size has a clear price. Raised UV-relief rolled canvas starts at $49for an 16×20" piece. Sizes run through a displayed 26×39", depending on aspect ratio. Every price includes free contiguous-US shipping, unlimited proof revisions, and a 30-day refund or reprint; ready-to-hang stretcher bars are optional.
What makes Canvasly different from other photo-to-painting services?
Three things together. Three proofs side-by-side from your photograph — different brushwork, palette, light — before any pigment ships. Identity locked from the source so likeness holds while you direct the style. And real archival finish — heavyweight gallery cotton with raised UV-relief brushwork up to 1.8 mm — not a flat poster print of a painting.
How does Canvasly handle the photograph I upload?
Stored only to render your portrait and to reprint if you ask. Never used to train an external model. Delete your account from your account page and everything goes with it.
