Some walls are waiting. A custom portrait for grandmother's house is painted for exactly one room — the grandchildren in the garden, the four generations from last Thanksgiving, the couple she has been for fifty years. You send the photographs; the studio paints the piece she will point at for the rest of her life.

Grandmother's hallway has its own light, its own dimensions, its own frames already hanging. Choose a size and a painterly register that belong there — a warm family oil in the golden grass light of late afternoon, or a quieter classical piece that sits beside the photographs she already keeps. If you can describe the wall, the studio will compose for it.
Three grandchildren in three different cities, photographed in three different years: not a problem. The studio composes multiple figures — and multiple source photographs — into a single, coherent oil painting, harmonising light and season so the group reads as one afternoon rather than a collage.
The picture from 1974 of her and grandfather, slightly faded, taken on a porch that no longer exists — that is a valid source. Faded colour and soft focus are handled in the painting; what must survive is the likeness. Many of our strongest pieces began as photographs older than the customer ordering them.
